First of all, thank you so much for your wonderful comments on the new blog coming soon! They made me so happy ♥. But… now I’m afraid I’m going to disappoint you…  It’s true that a new blog is exciting and it’s true that I have a few (not so important at all!) things to tell you, but really nothing that’s worth you’ll get excited about! So please forget everything I said about “many changes” and exciting news because I can already hear: “what, that’s all? Okay, it’s nice, but I imagined…” and I really really don’t want to disappoint my loyal Afafuny readers. :)

דבר שני, הכותרת של הרשומה השנייה שכתבתי כאן, מיד אחרי הרשומה הראשונה שבה הצגתי את עצמי ואת ‘אפפוני’, הייתה “שנתחיל עם כרטיס?”, אז חשבתי שיהיה מתאים שהכותרת של הרשומה האחת לפני האחרונה (כן, האחת לפני אחרונה…) תהיה די דומה. :)

Secondly, the title of the second post I wrote here, after the first one in which I introduced myself and Afafuny, was “Let’s start with a card, shall we?”, so I thought it would be appropriate that the next-to-last (yes, next-to-last…) post’s title would be quite similar. :)

(הוא אמנם אומר “אני מתגעגע/ת אליך/אלייך”, אבל אל דאגה – לא הכנתי אותו לאף אחד, סתם בשביל הכיף :))

כרטיס קצת מוזר, אני יודעת. שום ניירות צבעוניים, מדבקות, פרחים, סיכות… רק ציור בצבעי עיפרון. לא הסגנון הרגיל שלי, אבל היה כיף להכין אותו.

A weird card, I know. No patterned papers, no stickers, no flowers, no brads… just a drawing. Not my usual style, but it was fun making it.

I haven’t been here for almost 3 months and so many things have changes in my corner of the world… but I won’t talk about them now. What I *will* say is that… I’m moving to a new blog!! Yeah, yeah, I know: “You haven’t written in your blog for 3 months, so what do you need a blog for anyway, not mentioning a new one?!” But yes, I do! ;)

So I just wanted to tell you that, before I tell you everything (but hey, don’t expect very exciting surprises…) and also to say hi!

Remember I told you a few months ago my sister was getting married? Probably not, but she did get married. When she saw that photo from the wedding (the one in the following scrapbook page) of her with our little sister (I’m in the middle between their two :)), she asked me to ‘make something with it’. And today I did! And it was really fun! (well, of course it was fun – how can scrapbooking be not fun? (actually… it’s not completely true – scrapbooking can be not fun. When you have to stay awake till 5:00 in the morning to finish making the 25 8×8″ scrapbook pages you volunteered to make (for free!) and then you go to sleep and have to wake up in 7:00, it’s definitely *not fun*. I know. From experience.))

דף הרקע בצבע kraft הוא בכלל לא דף של סקראפבוקינג – זה דף כזה שמסעדות מניחות מתחת לצלחות (לפני הקינוח, במקרה של הדף המסוים הזה :)). כשהלכתי עם המשפחה שלי למסעדה וראיתי את הדף הזה מתחת לאחת הצלחות שלנו, ידעתי מיד שמקומו לא היה על שולחן המסעדה אלא בקופסת דפי הסקראפ שלי. :)

הכותרת של הדף (שחתכתי מטאפט בדוגמת עץ) היא פשוט ‘.אחיות.’ (הנקודות בעיקר בשביל הכיף :)). פשוט חשבתי שהמילה הזאת אומרת *כל כך* הרבה וזה מספיק. אחרי הכל, אחיות = אהבה, חברות, מריבות, מסיבת פיג’מות, חלומות, סודות, צחוקים ועוד כל כך הרבה…

The Kraft paper is not actually a scrapbooking paper – it’s that paper that restaurants put under the plates (before the dessert, in this particular paper’s case :)). When my family and I went to a restaurant a while ago and I saw it under one of our plates, I knew right away that its real place was not on the restaurant’s table, but in my scrapbooking papers box . :)

The title of the page (which I hand cut from a woodgrain contact paper) says simply ‘.sisters.’ (the periods are mainly for fun :)). I just thought that the word ‘sisters’ says *so* much and that’s enough. After all, sisters = love, friendship, fights, sleepovers, dreams, secrets, laughter and so much more… 

אני אוהבת את הפינה הזאת! :) פרחים, עלים, פפיון צמר, סיכה מתפצלת בצורת לב, פורטרט של ליידי ויקטוריאנית וכמה פנינים… מה עוד יכולה נערה לבקש? :)

I love this corner! :) flowers, leaves, a yarn bow, a heart-shaped  brad, a Victorian lady’s portrait and some pearls… what more can a girl ask? :)

לא הוספתי מלל כי לא ממש היה לי מה לכתוב – אני חושבת שזה די ברור שהתמונה צולמה בחתונה של אחותי. :)

המממ… אני מניחה שכן יכולתי לכתוב על החברוּת שלהן או על כל הדברים ששלושתנו עושות יחד… אבל אני חושבת שהדף הזה יותר יפה ככה.

I didn’t add journaling because there wasn’t really much I could write – I think it’s quite obvious that the photo was taken in my sister’s wedding. :)

Well, I guess I could write about their friendship or all the things that we three love doing together… but I do think that this page should remain that way.

אחד הדברים שהיה ממש כיף בלהכין את הדף הזה היה שתוך כדי ההכנה למדתי הרבה דברים חשובים לגבי הסגנון שלי (יותר מבדפים מעוצבים אחרים שהכנתי). אני מניחה שהדרך הכי טובה ללמוד לעצב אלבומים היא פשוט לעצב אלבומים! :)

One of the things that was really nice about making this page was that while making it I learned a few important things about my personal style (more than in other pages). I guess there is no better way of learning scrapbooking than simply scrapbooking! :)

התכוונתי לאחל לכם שנה טובה לפני ראש השנה אבל לא הספקתי… אבל עדיין לא מאוחר מדי, נכון? אז שתהיה לכולנו שנה טובה ומתוקה, שנה מלאה בשמחה, צחוק, חיוכים, יצירתיות, אהבה, חברויות, בשורות טובות, ספרים טובים, טיולים מהנים, כסף (אין מה לומר, גם זה חשוב, אחרת איך נקנה חומרי סקראפ? :) אבל בכל זאת – שגם לא יהיה ממנו יותר מדי…), סיפוק, אושר פנימי אמיתי ורגעים קסומים ויפהפיים! הו, ובריאות, כמובן! איך שכחתי?

Last thursday and friday were Rosh HaShana, which means the Jewish new year has just begun! I planned to wish you a happy new Jewish year before the holiday but I didn’t make it… but it’s not too late, right? So a happy new year for all of us, a year full of laughter, smiles, creativity, love, friendships, good news, good books, fun trips, money (after all, it’s important too, how will we buy scrap supplies without it? :) But I also hope we won’t have too much of it either…), fulfillment, real internal happiness and beautiful magical moments! Oh, and health, of course! How could I forget? 

ואם אני כבר כאן, אז – זוכרים את ההחלטה שלי לצלם יותר? אני שמחה להגיד שאני באמת מיישמת אותה! אני לא מסתובבת כל היום עם מצלמה, אבל לעיתים קרובות אני לוקחת אותה לידיי ומצלמת כמה דברים מסביב. היום העברתי את התמונות ממנה למחשב ומצאתי כמה תמונות שאהבתי במיוחד. התמונה למעלה היא אחת מהן, והנה כמה נוספות:

דבר ראשון, כמה מילים לגבי ‘פרויקט’ הארט ג’ורנלינג שהזכרתי ברשומה הקודמת: בסופו של דבר, לא התחלתי ארט ג’ורנל חדש כמו שתכננתי – החלטתי להמשיך עוד קצת עם הארט ג’ורנל הישן שלי. כשאני אתחיל אחד חדש, אני גם אתחיל את ה’פרויקט’ (אני לא חושבת שפרויקט היא המילה המתאימה אבל אני לא מוצאת מילה אחרת :) ) הזה שאני מקווה שלפחות חלק מכם ייהנו ממנו. :)

first of all, a few words about the art journaling ‘project’ I mentioned in the last post: I haven’t started a new art journal like I’d planned to – I decided I should keep journaling in my old art journal for a little while. When I start a new one, I’ll also start this art journaling project that I hope at least some of you will enjoy. :)

את הכרטיס הזה הכנתי כשלא הייתי בבית אז לא היו לי את כל החומרים שלי בהישג יד. הייתה איתי שקית של כל מיני שאריות דפים שאותם הדבקתי לכרטיס כדי ליצור את הרקע, את הכותרת כתבתי בכתב ידי עם עט צבעוני, הרשת וה’חיטה’ הם מתוך ערכת יצירה קטנטנה שחברה שלי קנתה לי פעם ליום ההולדת בקרביץ ואת הפרח הוורוד-ירוק חתכתי מסרט בד שעשוי מהרבה פרחים כאלה שמחוברים אחד לשני. הרימונים בצד שמאל, דרך אגב, הם סתם חתיכת קרטון מקופסא של תיונים.

יחסית לקח לי הרבה פחות זמן מהרגיל להכין את הכרטיס הזה שזה תמיד כיף. :) הוא באמת פשוט מאוד ופתרון מצוין בשביל כל שאריות הדפים שיש לנו שאנחנו מתקמצנות לזרוק… ;)

שיהיה לכולנו שבוע-אחרון-של-השנה *נהדר*! :)

I made this card when I wasn’t at home so I didn’t have all my supplies at an arm’s reach. I had a baggie full of leftovers which I adhered to the card to create the background, I wrote the sentiment with a colored pen, the net and the ‘wheat’ are from a little craft kit a friend of mine bought me for my birthday a while ago and the pink/green flower was cut from a ribbon (the kind of ribbon that is made from many such flowers attached to each other). The pomegranates to the left, by the way, are just a piece of cardboard I cut from a pretty tea box.

This card was much quicker to make than most of my cards, which is always an extra. :) It’s a really simple card to make and a great solution for all the leftovers we keep collecting just because they are too pretty  to be thrown away… ;)

It’s the last week of the Jewish year, so I really hope it will be a *wonderful* one! :)

Yes, yes, the unbelievable is happening in these very moments and I’m writing my fourth post in four days. Yippee! :)

אז, היום יש לי כמה עמודי ארט ג’ורנל להראות לכם:

So, today I have a few art journal pages to show you:

{ The journaling: “~ Good things in my life: ~ ♥ I graduated from high school! ♥ I believe in myself. ♥ I believe in Him! ♥ I’ll be much more independent soon! ♥ I’m going to have many new friends soon. ♥ I’m excited about the college and the studies. ♥ I have many ideas, enthusiasm and ambitions. ♥ My family loves me and I love my family! Oh! and: ♥ My blog. I’m not a very good blogger, but I hope to post often this week! (The week before I become a college student!) And not only this week – starting this week. And one more thing! ♥ Colored pencils! Last weekend I declared myself as the owner of the box full of colored pencils I found on the refrigerator. Fun!’ }

הראשון הוא עוד מסדנת הארט ג’ורנלינג של אלסי ורייצ’ל (שנראה לי שכבר הזכרתי אינספור פעמים מאז שהשתתפתי בה). הנושא היה דברים שמשמחים אותנו אבל אנחנו לא תמיד שמים לב אליהם או מחשיבים אותם בתור דברים שממש גורמים לנו להיות מאושרים. את הדבר השני ברשימה טשטשתי כי הוא מדבר על משהו שקשור לאחותי ולי יחד ולכן העדפתי לשמור את זה פרטי.

בשביל הרקע השתמשתי בסתם דף רגיל של דפדפת. חתכתי אותו קצת בצד כי הוא היה רחב מדי, אז השתמשתי בשארית – חתכתי אותה לשתיים והדבקתי את כל אחת מהחתיכות לרוחב (אפשר לראות את זה טוב משמאל לפרפר ומימין לריבוע הירוק-צהבהב).

The first one is still from Elsie and Rachel’s art journal online class (that I’ve mentioned countless times since I’ve taken it). The theme was things that make us happy but we usually don’t notice or don’t consider big factors in our happiness. I blurred out the second thing on my list because it’s about something that is about me & my sister too so I wanted to keep it private.

I used a simple lined paper for the background. I cut it to make it a bit narrower, so I used that scrap – I cut it to two and adhered it on top of the background (you can see it clearly on the left of the butterfly and on the right of the yellowish-green square).

הדגלים של הבאנר גזורים מטישיו צבעוני והפרפר גזור מטאפט. את העיגולים מסביבו ציירתי עם עפרונות צבעוניים (כן, זה לקח קצת זמן אבל זה היה שווה את זה :) ).

The banner was cut from colored tissue paper and the butterfly from a piece of contact paper. I drew the dots around it with colored pencils (yep, it took some time but it was worth it :) ).

הריבועים הצבעוניים הם חתיכות מכריכות של מחברות שמשום מה החלטתי לשמור במקום לזרוק כשמצאתי אותן בזמן שעשיתי סדר בדברים של בית ספר. :)

The colored squares are pieces of notebook covers that from some reason I decided to keep instead of throwing them away when I found them while organizing my school stuff. :)

במוצאי שבת עשיתי סדר בדברים שיש לנו מעל למקרר ומצאתי קופסא מלאה בעפרונות צבעוניים! הם מצאו חן בעיניי נורא וצ’יק צ’ק הם הפכו להיות שלי. ;) השתמשתי בהם בעמוד הזה כדי לצבוע את הלבבות הקטנים ואת סימני הקריאה, לצייר את העיגולים מסביב לפרפר שהזכרתי קודם ואת השורה של הקשקושים האלה:

Last weekend I organized some of the things we have on top of our refrigerator and found a box full of colored pencils! They looked so lovely that they quickly became mine. ;) I used them in making this page to color in the little hearts, draw the said dots around the butterfly and this line of scribbles:

בדרך כלל אני לא מכינה זוגות של עמודים (זאת אומרת, אני כן משתמשת בשני הצדדים של הדף, אבל בדרך כלל אני לא מכינה אותם כזוג, אלא כל אחד מהם בפני עצמו), אבל זה אחד מיוצאי הדופן. התמונה מימין היא סתם מפרסומת והיא נתנה לי את הרעיון לכותרת הזאת – ‘משהו שאני רוצה לטפח’, שהוא החברוּת ביני לבין אחותי. :)

נכון שהתמונה הזאת נוראאאא מתוקה? :) הכותונות התואמות שלנו והחיוכים שלנו… אוף, למה לא נשארתי כזאת חמודה? :)

Usually I don’t do two page spreads (I mean, I do use both sides of the papers, but usually I don’t make as a ‘couple’, but each of them by itself), but this one was an exception. The photo on the right page is just from a pretty ad and it gave the idea to the prompt – ‘something I want to nurture’, which is my sister and I’s friendship. :)

Isn’t the photo of my sister and me soooo sweet? :) Our matching nightgowns and smiles… Ugh, why haven’t I remained that cute? :)

את האותיות גזרתי מטאפט עץ, ואת הרקע של העמוד הימני ציירתי בעזרת העפרונות הצבעוניים שאני כל כך אוהבת עכשיו. :)

I cut the letters from a woodgrain contact paper, and drew the background of the left page with the colored pencils that I love so much right now. :)

ו… אם אתם אוהבים ארט ג’ורנלינג, או אפילו יותר טוב – אם ארט ג’ורנלינג מוצא חן בעיניכם אבל אף פעם לא ניסיתם, אז… השבוע אני אסיים את הארט ג’ורנל הנוכחי שלי ובתחילת השבוע הבא אני מקווה להתחיל ארט ג’ורנל חדש! חשבתי שיהיה כיף אם כל שבוע אני אראה עמוד אחד שהכנתי עם כמה תמונות של שלב-אחר-שלב, או איזשהו אתגר אמנותי או כותרת מעניינת לעמוד, ומי שירצה יוכל בשמחה להצטרף גם! :) – פשוט להתחיל גם ארט ג’ורנל וכל שבוע לעשות עמוד בהשראת ההדרכה / אתגר / כותרת. מה דעתכם? אם אף פעם לא ניסיתם ארט ג’ורנלינג (שמישהו ימציא לזה מונח בעברית, בבקשה-בבקשה……. :) ) אני חושבת שזאת הזדמנות מצוינת לעשות את זה יחד. :) אני ממש, אבל *ממש*, לא מתיימרת להיות איזושהי מומחית לארט ג’ורנלינג – ממש לא! התחלתי את הארט ג’ורנל הראשון שלי רק לפני כמה חודשים, אבל אחרי הכל – הרי אין ממש מה להיות מומחה – זה הכל רק כדי ליהנות ולעשות משהו אמנותי תוך כדי שאנחנו כותבים על עצמנו, שואלים את עצמנו שאלות ומגלים על עצמנו כל מיני דברים שלא ידענו קודם. :) אני חושבת שזה יהיה ממש כיף, אז אתם ממש ממש מוזמנים! :) ♥

הו, ועוד כמה דברים לגבי ארט ג’ורנלינג שעשויים לשכנע אתכם לנסות את זה גם: ארט ג’ורנלינג זה הרבה יותר מהיר והרבה יותר פשוט מסקראפבוקינג! אני אוהבת את שניהם, אבל להכין דף מעוצב באלבום לוקח לי לפעמים שעות על גבי שעות, אבל עמוד בארט ג’ורנל יכול לקחת רק 15 דקות (אני חושבת שהעמודים הכי מורכבים שהכנתי לקחו לי אולי שעה?). ארט ג’ורנלינג גם דורש הרבה פחות חומרים יקרים – בעיצוב אלבומים אני בדרך כלל משתמשת בחומרים הרגילים כמו פרחי נייר, מדבקות, ראב-און, סיכות מתפצלות וכו’ וכו’ שעולים לא מעט כסף (אהמ, אהמ…), אבל בארט ג’ורנלינג אני מעדיפה להשתמש בשאריות נייר, דפים ממגזינים, מסקינג טייפ, ניירות אריזה, טאפטים, עטיפות מתנה, ועוד כל מיני דברים כיפיים כאלה. זהו, אז כולם כבר השתכנעו להתחיל את הארט ג’ורנל הראשון שלהם, נכון? :)

And… if you love art journaling, or even better – if you think you love it but you’ve never tried, then… this week I’ll be finishing my current art journal and next week I hope to start a new one! I thought it would be fun if every week I’ll show you one page I made with a few step-by-step photos, or some kind of an artsy challenge or an interesting prompt, and everyone who wants can join in! :) – Just to start a new art journal and every week make a page inspired by the tutorial / challenge / prompt. What do you think? If you’ve never tried art journaling I think it might be a great opportunity to do it together. :) I really *really* don’t pretend to be a professional art-journaler! I started my first art journal just a few months ago, but after all – there isn’t really anything to be professional in about art journaling – it’s all just about having fun and doing something artistic while writing about ourselves, asking ourselves questions and finding things about ourselves that we haven’t known before. :) I think it will be really fun so you are very very welcome to join me! :) ♥

Oh, and a few more things that might convince you to try it: art journaling is much faster and simpler than scrapbooking! I love both, but making a scrapbook page takes me hours and hours, but an art journal page sometimes takes only 15 minutes (I think that most complicated pages I’ve done took me maybe an hour?). Art journaling also requires much cheaper supplies – in scrapbooking I usually use the regular supplies like paper flowers, stickers, rub-ons, brads etc etc that cost more than just a little (cough, cough), but in my art journals I love using things like paper scarps, magazine pages, masking tape, wrapping paper, contact paper, and such fun stuff. Ok, so everyone’s with me now, right? :)

עוד לא קניתי לי ארט ג’ורנל חדש, אבל אני חושבת שאני אקנה עוד מחברת כמו המחברת שבה השתמשתי לארט ג’ורנל שיש לי עכשיו – מחברת ספירלה של Papyrus בגודל A4 (בהתחלה חשבתי שזה גודל קצת משעמם ויותר מדי רגיל אבל גיליתי שזה גודל מצוין! :) ) עם כריכת פלסטיק שחורה מלפנים וקרטון מאחור. יש בה 80 דפים אבל זה הרבה יותר מדי לטעמי אז כשאני אחליט שהגיע הזמן לגמור את הארט ג’ורנל הזה ולהתחיל חדש, אני פשוט אגזור את כל הדפים המיותרים. הדפים במחברת הספציפית הזאת (של papyrus) הם גם נטולי חומצה (ככה כתוב על הכריכה האחורית) אז זה עוד יתרון. :)

אני חושבת שימי שני יהיו ימי הארט ג’ורנלינג בארץ האפפוני, אבל אני עוד לא בטוחה לגמרי, אז אני אגיד לכם כבר בהמשך. אני ממש אוהבת ארט ג’ורנלינג ואני נורא מקווה שאני אוכל לגרום גם לכם לאהוב את זה לפחות כמוני! :)

I haven’t purchased a new art journal yet, but I think I’ll buy the same kind of notebook as the one I’m using now – a spiral A4 notebook (in the beginning I thought it was a boring size but then I found out is a great size! :)).

I think Mondays will be the art-journaling day in Afafuny-land, but I’m not 100% percent sure yet, so I’ll update you later. I really love art journaling and I hope I’ll make you love it at least as much as I do (well, if you don’t already :))!

First of all… I have two new Blythe dolls! Eeek!! Actually… I’ve had them for about three weeks now but I just didn’t take the time to take pretty photos of them so I didn’t have anything to show you… So here is the first one – a beautiful Urban Cowgirl!

These are just the manufacturer’s photos, of course, but you’ll see mine in a moment. :) Her name is Amy, named after Amy from Little Women (Amy from the book, not the film, because she is not nearly as lovely in the film as in the book! :) ).

השם שלה הוא לוּפִּין גֵ’ייסִי. לופין זה כמובן על שם רֵמוּס ג’ון לופין מ’הארי פוטר’ (ובבקשה אל תגידו כמו כולם “אבל לופין הוא בן”, בגלל שזה בכלל לא משנה – לופין זה בכלל שם המשפחה שלו אז אין שום בעיה שזה יהיה השם הפרטי שלה. :) וחוץ מזה, אחותי אמרה לי שהיא תקרא לה לוּפָּה, שללא ספק נשמע כמו שם של בת :) ). בהתחלה הייתי בטוחה שאני אקרא לה ג’ייסי, אבל אז חשבתי על זה שזה נשמע הרבה יותר מדי אמריקאי והרבה פחות מדי ישראלי (לא שלופין נשמע ישראלי אבל לא משנה). לא רציתי לוותר על השם ג’ייסי לגמרי אז החלטתי לתת לה אותו בתור שם שני. :)

המממ… כן, אני עושה עסק גדול משמות. אבל אין מה לעשות. :)

Her name is Lupin Jasie (pronounced J.C.). Lupin is obviously after Remus John Lupin from Harry Potter (and please don’t say like everyone else ’but Lupin is a guy’, because it doesn’t matter at all – Lupin is just his family name and it’s great as her first name! :) And besides, my sister told me she would call her Lupa, which without a doubt sounds like a girls’ name :) ). In the beginning I was sure I would call her Jasie, but then I realized it sounded way too american (sorry! nothing personal :-) ) and way too not israeli (not that Lupin sounds very Israeli but never minds). I didn’t want to give it up entirely so it became her second name. :)

hmmm… yep, names are a big deal for me. But there is nothing to do about that. :)

טוב, אז עכשיו אחרי כל ההקדמות… לילי, איימי ולופין… <תופים, כמובן>

So now, after all my ramblings… Lily, Amy and Lupin… <drumroll, of course>

ואם לא ניחשתם (למרות שאני בספק – זה הרי די ברור כשרואים את כל הוורוד הזה), הן בבית הברביות שהיה שייך לאחותי ולי כשהיינו קטנות.

And in case you haven’t guessed already (although I’m sure you have – it’s pretty obvious with all this pink), they are in a Barbie house that belonged to my sister and me when we were little.

גם אני מצטרפת (קצת באיחור, אבל לא נורא) לאתגר של אלסי! :) הנה ארבעת הדברים שאני בחרתי לעשות עד סוף שנת 2010:

I, too, am participating in Elsie’s 4 Simple Goals project! (I’m late, I know, but never minds :) ) Here are the 4 goals I chose to pursue until the end of 2010:

1. לצלם תמונות של חיי היומיום, לפתח אותן ולשמור באלבום מיוחד. בקרוב אני מתחילה ללמוד במכללה ורוב הזמן אני לא אהיה בבית. אני אהיה בדירה אחרת ובמקום לימודים אחר בעיר שונה לגמרי (ירושלים!). הרבה דברים הולכים להשתנות ונראה לי שיהיה ממש נחמד אם אני אצלם תמונות של חיי היומיום (החדשים) שלי והדברים שמסביבי. חשוב לי גם שכל התמונות לא יישארו סתם על המחשב, ולכן הוספתי את החלק שאומר שאני חייבת לפתח אותן + לשמור באלבום מיוחד.

1. take photos of everyday life, develop and keep them in a special album. I’m starting college soon and I won’t be at home most of the time. I’ll live in a new apartment and study in a new place and in a different city (Jerusalem!). Many things are going to change and I think it will be really nice if I take pictures of my (new) everyday life and the things around me. It’s also important to me that the photos won’t be just stored on the computer, so I added the part that says I have to develop them + keep them in a special album.

2. לאכול פירות וירקות, לשתות מים ולשחות. זה נשמע כאילו אני עושה דיאטה או משהו, אבל ממש לא. :) אני פשוט רוצה להיות קצת יותר בריאה ולהיות מסוגלת להגיד ש’אני אוכלת הרבה פירות וירקות, שותה הרבה מים, וגם שוחה הרבה’. חחח. אני אוהבת לשחות ובמכללה יש בריכת שחייה, כך שאני ממש רוצה לנצל את זה. בזמן האחרון התחלתי לשתות הרבה מים (*יחסית*, שזה אומר לא הרבה בכלל) וזה כל כך בריא אז כדאי שאני אמשיך עם זה, ואני גם אוהבת מלפפונים חיים אבל משום מה לא אוכלת אותם מספיק, אז הגיע הזמן לשנות את זה. להיות בריאים! :)

2. eat fruits and vegetables, drink water and swim. It sounds like I am on a diet or something, but I’m not. :) I just want to be a bit healthier and be able to say that ‘I eat fruits and vegetables a lot, drink a lot of water, and also swim a lot’. Haha. I love swimming and there is a pool in the college, so I hope I’ll go there often. I started drinking relatively a lot of water recently (RELATIVELY, which means: actually not a lot at all) and it’s so healthy so I should keep doing that, and I also love raw cucumbers but from some reason don’t eat them enough, so it’s time to change it. To be healthy! :)

3. לקנות בגדים יפים, לקנות קצת איפור ולהכין לעצמי תכשיטים פשוטים ויפים, ולהשתמש בכל זה. (-ברור שזה צריך להיות בוורוד, נכון?) בבית הספר ובתיכון תמיד הייתה לנו חולצה וחצאית תלבושת כך שבזמן הלימודים לא הצטרכתי שיהיו לי הרבה בגדי יומיום כי בדרך כלל נשארתי עם התלבושת במשך כל היום. גם ככה לא ממש אהבתי ‘לצאת לשופינג’ אז לא היו לי – ועדיין אין לי – הרבה בגדים. עכשיו כשסיימתי את התיכון וכבר אין תלבושת אחידה, הגיע הזמן למלא את הארון. אני רוצה שיהיו לי בגדים שאני אוהב ושאני ארגיש בנוח איתם, ולכן בחרתי בזה לפרויקט הזה. וגם לקנות איפור – אף פעם לא קניתי לי איפור, ואחותי מטיפה לי על כך שאני יכולה להיראות הרבה יותר טוב אם אני רק אשתדל קצת (שזה אומר להרכיב עדשות במקום משקפיים ולהתאפר קצת) אז אולי הגיע הזמן לנסות את כל הקטע הזה של האיפור, במיוחד בהתחשב בעובדה שאני כבר בת 18 ואם לא עכשיו, אימתי? :) ולגבי התכשיטים – אני גם ממש לא בקטע של תכשיטים וכו’, אבל בזמן האחרון מתחשק לי להכין תכשיטים, לא דברים מפוארים, אלא סתם דברים פשוטים ויפים, אז הוספתי את זה לסעיף 3.

[דרך אגב, התמונה למעלה היא מ'צעצוע של סיפור 2' – זאת השידה של אמילי (הבעלים של ג'סי) אחרי שהיא מחליפה את כל בובות הסוסים שהיו לה שם באיפור, זוכרים? :-) ]

3. buy pretty clothes, buy makeup and make pretty simple jewelry and use them. (-It obviously should be in pink, right?) At school and high school we always had uniform so during the school year I didn’t need to have many clothes, because I usually didn’t change during the day anyway. Also, I wasn’t a huge fan of going shopping for clothes so I didn’t – and still don’t – have many clothes. Now that I graduated from high school and I don’t have uniforms anymore, it’s time to fill the wardrobe. I want to have clothes that I’ll love and that I’ll feel comfortable with, so I chose this as a goal. And buy makeup – my sister always tells that I could look so much better if I only tried a little (which means wearing contacts instead of my glasses and a bit makeup) so maybe it’s time to try all this makeup thing, especially considering that I’m 18, and if not now, then when? :) And about the jewelry – I’m also not really into them either, but I’ve been wanting to make some pretty jewelry lately – nothing fancy, just simple pretty ones – so I added this to goal #3.

Hi! I have a scrapbook page to share with you today, and not just a scrapbook page, but a scrapbook page that my sister said is the most beautiful page I’ve ever made! :)

אחותי צילמה את התמונה הזאת שלי אחרי שחזרנו (אמא שלי, היא ואני) ממסיבת סוף השנה בתיכון. ובשבילי היא לא הייתה רק מסיבת סוף שנה, אלא מסיבת סוף תיכון! יוּ-הוּ!! ;) כן, סיימתי את התיכון. נכון שזה נפלא?  :)

My sister took this photo after we (and my mom) came back from the little end-of-school-year party in our high school. For me it wasn’t only the end of the school year, but the end of high school! Yoo-hoo!! ;) Yep, I graduated from high school. That’s wonderful, isn’t it? :)

The journaling says: I graduated from high school! I graduated from high school. How lovely! In the next year (which starts in less than a month) I’ll study in The Jerusalem College. I’ll study English and art. I’m still not 100% sure about the art, so we will see. But I’m really excited about the English! English, and a bit of linguistics (!!!) and learning-difficulties… and books in English. I’ll need to read classic books, I think. I hope Jane Austin and Little Women are in the list (from which you choose which books you want to read), because I’d love to read them. And… I won’t live at home anymore! I mean, of course <..> will remain my address but most of the time I’ll be in Jerusalem and a half of one of the rooms in one of the student apartments will me mine… and it goes without saying that this half will look lovely! :-) Everything will be so much fun!!

דרך אגב, היום היה לי יום ממש נחמד. :) אפילו שהתעוררתי הרבה יותר מאוחר ממה שאני אוהבת ובדרך כלל זאת לא התחלה כל כך טובה… הכנתי כמה עמודים בארט ג’ורנל שלי ואחר כך ביליתי כמה שעות עם אמא שלי ואחותי בסידורים ובקניות בעיר. בדרך כלל אני לא אוהבת לצאת לסידורים, אבל הפעם זה היה נחמד. :) חוץ מזה, הדוושה של מכונת התפירה שלי (‘של אמא שלי’ יהיה יותר מדויק, אבל כרגע אני היחידה שמשתמשת בה) חזרה מתיקון + מצאתי שתי חולצות יפות בשבילי בקניון. :) עכשיו אני כותבת ב’אפפוני’ ואני מקווה שהיום הזה ימשיך להיות מקסים. :) איך היה היום שלכם?

By the way, I had a really nice day today. :) Even though I woke up much later than I’d love to and usually it’s not a promising beginning to a wonderful day… I made a few pages in my art journal and later I spent a few hours hanging out with my mom and sister, running errands and shopping. Usually I don’t like to run errands, but today it was nice. :) Also, the pedal of my sewing machine (‘my mom’s sewing machine’ would be more correct, but right now I’m the only one who uses it) is back from repair + I found two pretty blouses for me in the mall. :) Now I’m blogging and I hope this day will keep being lovely. :) How has been your day?

נ.ב. 2. לגבי התמונה בדף הזה – דבר ראשון, אני יודעת שהתאורה גרועה נורא, אבל אין מה לעשות. :) ודבר שני, אחותי אמרה שאם אני אראה את התמונה הזאת באינטרנט, אנשים לא יבינו למה אני נראית כל כך פשוטה במסיבת סוף התיכון שלי. הסיבה היא שזאת הייתה מסיבה ממש קטנה ופשוטה, לא משהו זוהר ונוצץ (לשמחתי :) ). ויותר מזה, אנחנו (בנות כיתה י”ב) באנו כולנו בחולצות לבנות וחצאיות שחורות. זה היה חשוב במיוחד שתהיה תלבושת אחידה כי חלקנו השתתפנו במקהלה. הו, וחוץ מזה – אני באופן כללי לא בין המתאפרות והמתקשטות, אז זה עוד סיבה. ;-)

P.P.S. About the photo in this page – firstly, I know the lighting is awful, but what’s done is done. :) And secondly, my sister told me that if I show this photo in the internet, people won’t understand why I looked so simple in my graduation party. The reason is that it was a very little & simple party, nothing fancy (good for me :) ). And more than that, all the seniors were dressed in white blouses and short skirts (it’s a girls school). It was particularly important that we would all be dressed the same because many of us took part in a choir. Oh, and I’m anyway not the one to wear lots of makeup and get fancy, so that’s an additional reason. ;-)

I hope you love to see art journal pages because I noticed I’ve been posting them relatively a lot in the last few months :).

This page is from Rachel and Elsie‘s art journaling online class  . The prompt was Pretty Soon. The flowers are made of a plastic grocery bag that I cut to circles, pinched their center and stitched them.

את הדף הזה אני ממש אוהבת. עשיתי אותו לבד, לא כחלק מהסדנא. הרקע הוא הדף האחורי של טאפט – זה שמקלפים וזורקים. את התמונה של השולחן גזרתי ממגזין, הפרחים למעלה הם חלק מדף מדוגם של s.e.i, את המלבן המסולסל האפור גזרתי בגזירה חופשית ואת השקית הקטנה של התה הדבקתי סתם כי היא יפה (אני בכלל לא שותה תה :) ).

I really love this page. The background is the back paper of contact paper – the one that you peel and throw away. I cut the picture of the table from a magazine, the flowers on the upper part of the postcard are from an s.e.i patterned paper, I freehand cut the grey scalloped rectangle and the little reddish pink square is an ‘envelope’ of a tea bag that I added just because it’s pretty (I don’t even drink tea… :) ).

על הגלויה כתבתי מה אני רוצה לעשות בחיי וזה הרבה יותר מדי פרטי מכדי לפרסם באינטרנט :).

The page’s title is ‘My Life…’. I used the postcard to write what I want to do with my life and it’s way too private to publish in the internet :).

הכותרת – ‘(ששש) דברים שאני לא אומרת בקול’ – לעמוד הזה היא גם מהסדנא. הרקע הוא דף שקרעתי ממגזין ואת האותיות חתכתי מ… שקית של תיון (כי הצבעים שלה פשוט יפים!). בתוך המעטפה (זאת סתם מעטפת נייר כזאת של מתנות. חתכתי את החלק המתקפל בצורת טרפז כדי שיהיה יפה יותר) שמתי דף שבו כתבתי רשימה של דברים שאני לא אומרת בקול. :)

The prompt of this page – ‘(shhh) things I don’t say aloud’ – is from Elsie & Rachel’s class too. The background is a magazine page I ripped out and the letters I cut from an envelope of a tea bag (just because its colors are pretty!). I wrote a list of things I don’t say aloud ( ;) ) on a pretty paper and put it inside the envelope (just a simple gift envelope). 

ראיתי את הדף הזה עם התמונה של המראה במגזין והוא נתן לי את הרעיון לעמוד הזה. בתוך המראה כתבתי את המלל שלי (שטשטשתי אחר כך בצילום). כתבתי את השאלה “מה אני רואה כשאני מסתכלת במראה?”, שאלתי את עצמי כל מיני שאלות וכתבתי מה אני רוצה לראות כשאני מסתכלת במראה. כמובן שלא דיברתי על השיער או על האף שלי, אלא על דברים קצת יותר חשובים כמו אישיות ומי אני רוצה להיות. :)

את הפרחים ואבני החן הוספתי כדי שיהיה קצת יותר יפה ואני ממש אוהבת אותם שם. :)

I saw this page with the photo of the mirror in a magazine and it inspired me to do this page. I used the empty space in the mirror to journal. I wrote the question “what do I see when I look at the mirror?”, asked myself several questions and wrote what I want to see when I look at the mirror. Of course I didn’t write about things like my hair or my nose, but things that are a bit more important like personality and who I want to become. :)

I added the flowers and the gemstones to make the page more pretty and I really love them there. :)

את העמוד הזה הכנתי היום לכבוד התאריך א’ באלול. נשאר רק עוד חודש אחד לשנת תש”ע אז הכנתי רשימה של דברים שאני רוצה עוד להספיק בחודש האחרון הזה. בחלק העליון כתבתי דברים שקשורים במיוחד לחודש אלול ולזה שהגיע הזמן להשתדל במיוחד להיות טובים יותר :). הרשימה למטה (מתחת לכותרת ‘וגם’) הם כל מיני דברים כלליים בקשר ליצירה, לימודים, ספרים ועוד כל מיני דברים כאלה. וסתם שיהיה ברור, בשורה האחרונה זה: להכין בובות לֶבֶד, לא לְבַד ;).

I made this page today. The Jewish date was the first day of Elul. It’s the last month of the (Jewish) year so I made a list of things I want to do in this last month. Elul is the month of repentance and self-improvement so in the upper list I wrote things about becoming a better person and in the bottom list I wrote things about art, craft, studies, books etc.

The topic of this page is little things that I love. I took photos of three things that I love recently and I wrote another list of favorite things on the note papers.

ושני דברים טכניים: התמונות האלה הן לא תמונות פולארויד אמיתיות, אלא הכנתי אותן בעזרת התוכנה החינמית שאפשר להוריד כאן. והדבר השני – את ה’תפרים’ מסביב לדף ציירתי בעט צבעוני. אם אני זוכרת נכון, זה היה מה שנתן לי את ההרגשה שהדף הזה גמור והגיע הזמן להפסיק לחשוב מה עוד אפשר להוסיף :).

And two technical things: The photos are not real polaroid photos. I made them with the free program you can download here. And the second thing – I doodled the ‘stitches’ around the page with a colored pen. If I remember right, that was what gave me the feeling that this page was done and it was time to stop thinking what more I can add :).

And the list (three asterisks are instead of words I blurred out in the photo): simple and pretty jewelry like Layla’s, Little Women, buttons, art journals, the porch we will have, Naomi’s excitement over Lilylea, The Lord of the Rings, scrapbooking, living not at home during the school year, excitement about studying linguistics, the nickname Fafuna, daisies and groundsels, ***’s nervousness  when playing the computer game with the cakes, funny things *** and *** say, ‘Carlos”s cards, *** playing, the unicorn I drew, flickr, friendships via internet, imagination, wind, the tree in front of our house, the flowers + ‘vase’ I bought recently, Etsy, Miracle on 34^th Street, Naomi’s visits, characters I love a lot from films I love a lot, watching films I love over and over and over and over and over again and crying from books and films :).   

ואם אני מזכירה רשימות של דברים שאני אוהבת – הנה עמוד בארט ג’ורנל שלי (מלפני שלושה חודשים בערך) שבו כתבתי רשימה כזאת. הכנתי אותו במסגרת סדנת הארט-ג’ורנלינג של רייצ’ל ואלסי.

And speaking of lists of favorite things – here is an art journal page (that I made about three months ago) with such a list. I made it in response to the art journaling online class of Rachel and Elsie.

הוספתי את העמוד מימין סתם כי אהבתי את הציור הזה. זה עמוד מספר ילדים שצילמתי במכונת צילום. אחותי סיפרה לי שהיא הייתה מסתכלת שעות על הציור הזה כשהיא הייתה קטנה. :)

I added the right page just because I loved this drawing. It’s a page from a children’s book that I photocopied in a copier. My sister told me she had been staring at this drawing for hours when she was small.

וכמה מילים על הספר והסרט Bridge to Terabithia שמופיע בדף המעוצב למעלה. סיימתי את הספר שלשום והוא מקסים-מקסים! (טוב… זה לא היה הפתעה. ידעתי שהוא יהיה מדהים!) את הסרט ראיתי בפעם הראשונה לפני הרבה זמן (וראיתי אותו עוד כמה פעמים מאז כי כמו שכתבתי בדף המעוצב, אני אוהבת לראות שוב ושוב את הסרטים שאני אוהבת!). ראיתי אותו עם אבא שלי, אח שלי ואחיות שלי ואני היחידה שאהבה אותו. אח שלי סתם לא ממש התלהב ממנו, אבל אבא שלי ואחיות שלי התעצבנו על זה שהוא כל כך עצוב, אבל לי זה דווקא ממש לא הפריע (למרות שבכיתי המון :) ). דרך אגב, הסרט הוא סרט ילדים והשם שלו בעברית הוא ‘ממלכת טראביתיה’.

And a few words about the book and the film Bridge to Terabithia that appears in the scrapbook page. I finished reading the book on the day before yesterday and it’s super lovely! (well… it wasn’t a surprise. I knew it would be amazing!) I saw the film for the first time a long time ago (and I’ve seen it a few more times since then because like I wrote on the scrapbook page, I love re-watching my favorite films over and over again!). I saw it with my dad, my brother and my sisters and I was the only one who loved it. My brother didn’t love it simply because it’s just not the style of movie that he would really love, but my dad and sisters just really really didn’t like that it’s so sad, but I didn’t care (although I cried a lot :) ).

Last weekend I finished reading the 13^th and last book of A Series of Unfortunate Events! I started the first book on Hanukah and had a lot of fun reading all of the books until last weekend! They are definitely in my Favorite Books list ♥.

עכשיו אני רוצה לקרוא את שני הספרים הנלווים לסדרה: The Beatrice Letters ו-Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography. הוּוּוּוּ… אני ממש מחכה לקרוא אותם כבר. :)

דף מעוצב על רגע כייפי עם חברה שלי מהשנה שחלפה. שמרתי את הדף הזה שעליו כתבנו וציירנו באמצע השיעור, בכוונה בשביל להכין איתו דף מעוצב. כשניגשתי להכין את הדף הזה לא הייתי בטוחה אם כדאי לי לעשות את זה או לא – הרי זה בסך הכל סתם דף ששרבטנו עליו באמצע השיעור? אבל אז חשבתי שבוודאי יהיה נורא כיף להסתכל על זה בעוד כמה שנים… וחוץ מזה, בטח הילדים שלי (זאת אומרת, כשיהיו לי, בעזרת ה’ :) ) ייהנו לגלות מה אמא (אוי… זה כל כך מוזר – ומשונה – להשתמש במילה ‘אמא’ ביחס אליי) שלהם עשתה באמצע השיעור בתיכון… :)

A scrapbook page about a fun moment with a friend of mine from the past year. I kept this paper on which we wrote and drew during class, because I planned to use it on a scrapbook page. When I started making this page I wasn’t sure if I actually should make it or not – after all, it’s just a scrap paper we doodled on during class? But then I thought it would certainly be fun to look at it in a few years… and besides, I’m sure my kids (I mean, when I have kids :) ) will enjoy finding out what their mom (oh… it’s so strange and weird to use the word ‘mom’ in reference to me) was doing during class in high school… :)

באמצע השיעור חברה שלי כתבה את השיר הזה שאמא שלה הייתה שרה לה. את השיר כאילו שר מישהו למישהי בשם דייזי והוא מבקש ממנה שתסכים להתחתן איתו אבל הוא מוסיף שהחתונה לא תהיה ממש יפה כי אין לו כסף לכרכרה שתסיע אותם, אבל שהיא – דייזי – נראית מתוקה גם על אופניים דו-מושביים :). אם אני זוכרת נכון, אמרתי ש’דייזי’ הוא שם של פרה – ו*אין לי מושג* למה אמרתי את זה, כי היום דייזי לא נשמע לי *בכלל* כמו שם של פרה ואני מתנצלת אם דעתי הישנה פגעה במישהי ששמה דייזי. להפך, אני חושבת שזה דווקא שם מאוד מתוק. :) בכל מקרה, בתגובה לתגובתי, חברה שלי ציירה את דייזי הפרה ואני הוספתי את האופניים הדו-מושביים מתחתיה וגם את החרצית (Daisy = חרצית) בצד ואת החרצית על האופניים. היה כיף ומצחיק. :)

A friend of mine wrote down this song that her mom had sung to her. If I’m not mistaken, I said Daisy was a name for cows – I have *no* idea why I said that! Nowadays, Daisy doesn’t sound to me like a cow’s name *at all*. I apologize if my former opinion offended someone! On the contrary, I think Daisy is a very sweet name. :) Anyway, in response to my response, my friend drew Daisy the cow and I drew the ‘bicycle made for 2′ from the song underneath Daisy and also added daisies. It was fun and funny. :)

We all love seeing craft spaces, right?

בחדר שלי יש שידה שמעליה יש כוורת בגודל 2×2 והיא תואמת לשולחן הכתיבה שלי שמחוברת אליו כוורת בגודל 2×3. כשקנינו אותם אמא שלי קראה לתאים של הכוורת ‘קוביות’ ומאז התרגלתי לקרוא להם ככה. בתמונה רואים את הקובייה השמאלית התחתונה שבכוורת מעל השידה.

ו… המממ… כל ההקדמה הזאת הייתה פשוט כדי להסביר את הכותרת :).

In my room I have a cabinet and above it there is a shelf unit that matches my desk which also has above it a shelf unit. When we bought them my mom called the square cubicles ‘cubes’ and since then I got used to call them ‘cubes’. In the pic is the bottom left cube in the unit above the cabinet. (ETA: oops… I just realized that in English this kind of shelves is actually called ‘cubes’ and that it’s not weird to call them that way… So, just to calrify: in Hebrew it is a bit strange to call them ‘cubes’ :) ) 

And… hmmm… all this preface was just to explain the title :).

הקובייה הזאת, כמו הקובייה שלימינה והקובייה המרכזית התחתונה שמעל לשולחן מוקדשות לחומרי היצירה שלי. קל מאוד לראות שבקובייה הזאת השקעתי מאוד באיך שהיא נראית ולא בפרקטיות ;). אני חושבת שאני אצטרך לשנות את זה בקרוב כי זה באמת לא הכי נוח, אבל בינתיים זה עדיין ככה.

שידת המגירות הקטנה שבקובייה הזאת עשויה מקרטון. היא בכלל שייכת לאיזשהו משחק שבא עם חלקי קרטון וצריך לצבוע אותם ולחבר אותם. אני עטפתי את המגירות בדפים של הת’ר ביילי ובתוכן אני מאחסנת תבניות חיתוך (יש לי sizzix sidekick קטן שצלערי לא השתמשתי בו הרבה זמן, עכשיו כשאני חושבת על זה…) וקצת צ’יפבורד. קשה לראות בתמונה, אבל מימין ומשמאל לשידה הקטנה יש קופסאות פלסטיק מחולקות – כאלה עם תאים – שבהן אני מאחסנת סיכות מתפצלות, כפתורים, ניטים ואבני חן. הן לא מונחות בצורה הרגילה שלהן, אלא עומדות לאורך:

This cube, like the cube to its left and the bottom middle cube above the desk are dedicated to my craft supplies. I guess you can tell from the photo that I was focused a lot on how it looks and not so much on how practical it is ;). I think I’ll have to change it soon though, because it’s really not so comfortable but right now that how it is.

The little chest of drawers in the cube is made of cardboard. I wrapped the drawers in Heather Bailey papers and I store in them dies (I have a sizzix sidekick which unfortunately I haven’t used for a long time…) and chipboard shapes. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but to the right and left of the little drawers there are plastic boxes I have my brads, buttons, eyelets and gemstones in them. I store them vertically:

I’m so happy to tell you I now have a Blythe doll!! I got her last Wednesday. She is lovely and beautiful and I called her Lilyléa, or in short – Lily.

נכון שהיא מקסימה ויפהפייה? אני נורא אוהבת אותה. :) אני לא יודעת אם רואים טוב בתמונות, אבל השיער שלה הוא בצבע תכלת ירקרק… יותר ירקרק מאשר תכלת. לדגם שלה קוראים simply peppermint ובעקבות שרשרת של ניסים (באמת!) זכיתי בה ב-eBay ב-81$ בלבד! :) וכן, 81$ זה ממש זול בשבילה…

Isn’t she lovely and beautiful? I love her a lot. :) I don’t know if you cantell from the photos, but her hair is light green. She is a Simply Peppermint, and as a result of a series of miracles I won her on eBay for only 81$! :) And yes, 81$ is very cheap for her…

ארגנתי לה עולם קסום משלה בשביל הצילומים – הנחתי בד תחרה ירוק על הכורסא שלנו ובד שחור על המשענת וגם תקעתי פרחים מלאכותיים בין כרית הישיבה למסעד היד (ככה קוראים לזה, לא? :) ) :

I made her a magical world of her own for the photo session – I put a green lace fabric on our armchair and black fabric on the back rest and stuck synthetic flowers between the seat and the arm rest:

את השמלה אני תפרתי לה. את החלק העליון הכנתי לפי הגזרה הזאת אבל ויתרתי על הבטנה. את שני החלקים התחתונים תפרתי מעצמי.

I sewed this dress. I made the top part according to this pattern but I removed the lining. I made the two other parts myself.

“גבירתי הנאווה“! אני נורא אוהבת את הסרט הזה ♥. ראיתי אותו די הרבה בזמן האחרון… ככה שהמראות שלו ממש אפפו אותי לאחרונה אז הוא מתאים מצוין :). לא ממש ישבתי וצפיתי בו – הוא ממש ארוך (שעתיים וחמישים דקות, אני חושבת) ככה שזה לוקח הרבה זמן – אבל תוך כדי שעשיתי דברים אחרים, כמו כרטיס ברכה או ארט ג’ורנלינג. אחיות שלי לא מבינות איך אבא שלי ואני מסוגלים לראות סרטים בצורה כזאת אבל בשבילנו זה עובד מצוין :).

My Fair Lady! I love this film oh-so-much ♥. I’ve been seeing it quite a lot recently… So its visions are really surrounding me right now so it’s perfect :). I didn’t really sit and watch it – it’s really long (two hours and fifty minutes, I think) so it takes a long time – but while doing other things, like making cards or art journaling. My sisters don’t get how my dad and I can watch movies this way but it works great for us :).

יש בסרט סצנות שהרבה יותר יפות מבחינת הצבעים והעיצוב (כל הנשפים והמסיבות…) אבל לא מצאתי תמונות שלהם… אבל לפחות מצאתי את התמונה הזאת מהסצנה האחרונה ה*מקסימה* ♥ :) —

There are scenes in the film that are much prettier in their colors and styling (all the balls and parties…) but I couldn’t find any stills of them… but at least I found this pic from the *lovely* last scene ♥ :) —

Yesterday my dad and my sister bought me…

סיפורי ממלכת נרניה! כל שבעת ספרי ‘נרניה’ בכרך אחד! אני כל כך שמחה :). כבר הרבה זמן שרציתי לקרוא אותם ואני כל כך שמחה שעכשיו יש לי את כל שבעת הסיפורים.

The Chronicles of Narnia! The seven books in one volume! I’m so happy :). I’ve wanted to read them for a very long time and I’m really happy I now have all the seven stories.

מוקדם יותר אתמול עברתי על מגזינים ישנים שיש לנו של ‘נשיונל ג’יאוגרפיק’ לילדים. רציתי לראות אם יש שם עמודים יפים שאני יכולה לתלוש ולהשתמש בארט ג’ורנלינג כי כמו שהראיתי כאן, אני מאוד אוהבת לשלב אותם בארט ג’ורנל שלי. מצאתי הרבה דפים נחמדים שתלשתי ושניים מהם היו זוג דפים על הסרט ‘הנסיך כספיאן’. כשראיתי אותם נזכרתי שלא ראיתי בכלל את הסרט ושאני רוצה לראות אותו. אני בטוחה שהסיפור (אולי לא בהכרח הסרט, אבל הספר) מאוד יפה ולכן תלשתי את שני העמודים האלה. אחרי שקיבלתי – לאחר רק כמה שעות – את ‘סיפורי ממלכת נרניה’ החלטתי להכין איתם מיד זוג עמודים בארט ג’ורנל שלי:

Earlier yesterday I was thumbing through old issues of the kids National Geographic magazine (yep, there is an Israeli edition of the NG magazine! :) ). I wanted to see if there are pretty pages there that I could use in my art journaling because like you saw here, I love using them in my art journal. I found many nice pages I ripped out and two of them were about the film Prince Caspian. They reminded me I hadn’t seen the movie and want to see it. I’m sure the story (not necessarily the movie, but the book) is very pretty so I ripped those two pages out. After I received – only a few hours later – The Chronicles of Narnia I decided to instantly make with them two pages in my art journal:  

במקום להדביק מלבני בדים שלמים על כל הדף כשאחר כך ממילא העמודים מהמגזין מכסים את רובם, פשוט חתכתי רצועות והדבקתי מסביב. התלבטתי איזה בד כדאי – זה עם הפרחים הקטנים בגווני חום שמתאימים מאוד בצבעים לדפים מהמגזין, או זה עם הפרחים הגדולים האדומים שיוסיפו ‘גבורה’ לדף? (אדום זה צבע של גבורה, לא? גריפינדור*? :) :) :) ) לא הצלחתי להחליט אז פשוט השתמשתי בשניהם. פחדתי שהם לא יצאו יפה ביחד בגלל הדוגמאות השונות אבל זה דווקא יצא בסדר גמור לפי דעתי.

הכנתי לעצמי מקום לכתוב בו את המלל שלי ע”י שציירתי פסים עבים עם צבע אקריליק בצבע קרם בכמה חלקים על הדפים מהמגזין, וכשהצבע התייבש כתבתי עליו בעט רגיל.

Instead of adhering big fabric rectangles all over the page when the magazine page covers most of it anyway, I simply cut fabric strips and adhered around the mag page. I wasn’t sure which fabric I should use – the one with the little brownish flowers that matches the colors of the mag pages, or the one with the big red flowers that will add ‘courage’ to the page? (Red is the color of courage, isn’t it? Gryffindor*? :) :) :) ) I could choose one, so I just used both of them. I was afraid they wouldn’t look nice together because of the different patterns but now I think they look really pretty.

I needed a space to journal so I painted a few strips with cream acrylic paint in a few places on the mag pages, and after the paint dried i used a simple pen to write over it.

כתבתי: “היום אבא ותמי קנו לי ספר שמן שמאגד בתוכו את שבעת כרכי הסדרה. תמי התקשרה אליי קודם לשאול אותי אם אני רוצה את זה ועניתי שכן :). נרניה מזכירה לי את המנהג שהיה לנו פעם בחג סוכות… אני מחכה לקרוא את הסדרה כולה! אני בטוחה שהיא מקסימה! אני מחכה לשקוע בעולם מופלא ולדמיין ולדמיין…“

ה’מנהג’ שאותו הזכרתי הוא מנהג שהיה לנו כשהייתי קטנה. במשך כמה שנים, בחג סוכות בצהריים אבא שלנו היה מתיישב על הכורסא בסלון, אנחנו (אחיות שלי ואני. אולי גם אחיין שלי בשנים מאוחרות יותר) היינו מתיישבים מסביבו ומביאים לו את הספר “האריה, המכשפה וארון הבגדים” (מכל סדרת נרניה זה הספר היחיד שהיה לנו בבית ולכן הסיפור היחיד שאני מכירה מבין כל השבעה) והוא היה מספר לנו. הוא לא היה מקריא מילה במילה, אלא קורא קטע ואז מספר לנו במילים שלו. אהבתי את זה נורא. אבל אז, שנה אחת החלפנו את “האריה, המכשפה וארון הבגדים” ב-”שר הטבעות: שיבת המלך”. שנה לאחר מכן קראנו רק את “הרוח מטירת קנטרוויל” (סיפור קצר ומצחיק על רוח רפאים מאת אוסקר ווילד) במקום לקרוא את “האריה, המכשפה וארון הבגדים”, ושנה לאחר מכן הפסקנו לקרוא בכלל. אוף, אני ממש מתגעגעת למנהג הזה שלנו.

(דרך אגב, אם משום מה זה ^ נשמע לכם מוכר באופן מוזר, זה מין הסתם בגלל שפעם כבר סיפרתי לכם על זה כאן, לא בהכרח בגלל שיש עוד איזושהי משפחה מוזרה שבכל חג סוכות הייתה קוראת את “האריה, המכשפה וארון הבגדים” :) )

I wrote: “Today dad and Tammy bought me a thick book of all the seven books in the series. Tammy had called me first and asked if I wanted it and I answered yes :). Narnia reminds me of what we used to do every Sukkot… I can’t wait to read the entire series! I’m sure it’s lovely! I’m looking forward to sink in a magical world and imagine and imagine…“

‘What we used to do every Sukkot’ is: when I was little, for a few years, every Sukkot in noon, my dad used to sit in the armchair in our living room and we (my sisters and I. maybe my nephew too in the later years) sat around him and handed him The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (of all the Narnia books, it’s the only one we had at home so it’s the only one I know of all the seven) and he told us. He didn’t read aloud the entire book, but read a part and then told us in his own words. I loved it so much. But then, one year, we temporarily switched to The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. the next year we read just The Canterville Ghost (a funny short story by Oscar Wilde) instead of reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and in the next year we didn’t read anything. Ugh, I really miss this tradition we had.

(By the way, if it ^ sound strangely familiar to you, it’s probably because I have already told you this once, and not necessarily because there is another weird family that used to read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe every Sukkot :) ) 

הו, ואם הזכרתי בדים… אז אני שמחה לספר לכם שיש לי בדים חדשים!

Oh, and if I mentioned fabrics… I’m happy to tell you I have new ones!

שלשום הייתי עם אחותי בעיר ופתאום שמתי לב שאנחנו עוברות ליד איזושהי חנות בדים זולה שהייתי בה כבר כמה פעמים. לא היו בה דברים ממש יפים בפעמים הקודמות, אבל החלטתי להיכנס. ותראו מה מצאתי!הרבה בדים פרחוניים יפים! קניתי רק קצת מכל בד – אני לא מתכוונת לתפור מהם דברים ענקיים אלא להשתמש בהם בעיקר לעבודות נייר אז זה מספיק בשבילי. :) {אני יודעת שזה כלום לעומת הכמויות שיוצרות אחרות רגילות לקנות, אבל בשבילי זה ממש אוצר! :) }.

On the day before yesterday I was walking with my sister in the center of the town and realized we were passing by a cheap fabric shop I’d been to a few times before. There hadn’t been many pretty things there in the last times, but I decided to go inside. And look what I found! Many pretty floral fabrics! I bought just a bit from each one – I’m not planning to sew huge things, but use them mainly in my paper craft projects so that’s sufficient for me. :) {I know it’s nothing in cimparison to the quantity of fabric other crafters are used to buy, but for me it’s a treasure! :) }.

* Gryffindor – in the Harry Potter books, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy – is divided into four houses: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Huffelpaff and Slytherin. All the students are divided to those houses according to their qualities. Gryffindor is the house of the brave and courageous, and its colors are red and gold and its mascot is lion.   

I missed Afafuny and I’m happy to finally be here again ♥.

מאז הפעם האחרונה שהייתי כאן אחותי התחתנה! הכנתי לה את הכרטיס הזה ואני אוהבת אותו נורא. אבל אני גם קצת מתגעגעת אליו…

אני ממש אוהבת את הסגנון הווינטאג’י שלו. זה לא הסגנון הרגיל שלי אבל איכשהו זה הסתדר לי מצוין בכרטיס הזה. ואפילו… הכנתי אותו בפחות משלושת רבעי שעה! זה כל כך לא רגיל בשבילי :). המון זמן לא הכנתי כרטיסי ברכה, אבל בדרך כלל זה היה לוקח לי הרבה הרבה יותר. עכשיו נראה לי שאני צריכה להכין יותר כרטיסים; הוא ממש החזיר לי את החשק :).

Since the last time I was here my sister got married! I made her this card and I love it a lot. But I I miss it a bit too…

I love its vintage style. It’s not my usual style but somehow it was great for me here. And… I made it in less than 45 minutes! It’s so not normal for me :). I haven’t made cards for a long time, but usually it took me much much more. Now I think I need to make more cards :).

והשתמשתי בו גם מסביב לדף הבהיר באמצע ואחר כך צבעתי אותו מסביב בעזרת דיו דיסטרס. זאת הפעם הראשונה שהשתמשתי בו! :-O הדף באמצע הוא דף מדוגם רגיל שמלא בציורים של הוורדים האלה והכיתוב הזה.

And I used it on the block in the center too and then inked it with Distress ink. It’s the first time i used it! :-O This block is just a piece of patterned paper that is full of these roses and quote.

כאן אפשר לראות טוב יותר את הנוצה בצד שמאל למרות שהיא נראית כאן קצת מרוטה משום מה. מעל השורה האחרונה בכיתוב הדבקתי סרט אורגנזה בצבע ורוד בהיר. הקישוט האדמדם הוא מדבקה שעשויה ממין ספוג נוקשה. במקור היא בצבע לבן-קרם אבל צבעתי אותה בצבע קרקל של טים הולץ.

Here you can see better the feather to the left although it looks a bit unkempt from some reason. I adhered a light pink organza ribbon on top of the last line of the quote. The reddish embellishment is a sticker made of some sort of hard foam. It’s originally white-cream but I painted it with Tim Holtz paint.

אז נישואים הם שני אנשים שבוחרים לחלום את אותו החלום? אני לא בטוחה שזה 100 אחוז נכון, אבל בכל מקרה – זה מה שהכרטיס אומר, אז שיהיה. :)

So marriage is two people choosing to dream the same dream? I’m not sure it’s 100 percent correct, but anyway – that’s what the card says, but whatever. :)
